Macedonian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights

The Macedonian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights established in 1994, is a civic association dedicated to monitoring and improving the state of human rights nationwide. In addition to addressing a broad range of human rights issues, the Committee plays a key role in combating hate speech and hate crimes. Individuals can directly report incidents of hate speech or hate crime to the Committee, which systematically records and tracks these cases. As part of its commitment to promoting fundamental rights and freedoms, the Helsinki Committee provides free legal assistance to victims, cooperates with relevant organizations and state bodies, and works to align domestic legislation and practice with European and international standards.
